About the Ministry of Municipality
The Ministry of Municipality is considered one of the largest public service ministries that interact with the day to day affairs of general public.
The Ministry contributes through its departments, municipalities and centers in the overall progress and comprehensive development undergoing by the State of Qatar under the enlightened wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, The Emir and the Crown Prince his Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani and under the directives of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs His Excellency Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al Thani. The Ministry offers many services to the citizens and residents in the field of municipal services which include maintenance of local roads, general public cleaning, pest control, food control in terms of its sale locations, its storage and exchange, monitoring of markets and retail outlets, issuing of building permits and advertisement permits, issuing of commercial licenses. Additionally, these services include management of public parks and promenades, plantation of trees and promoting greenery all over the state of Qatar and provide advice and consultations to the public with about the rehabilitation and maintenance of their gardens.
About the Building Permit Complex:
The state of Qatar, recently has witnessed an unprecedented urban development in many parts of the country hence the higher authorities decided to establish B.P.C. representing all the agencies involved in the process of granting permit.

The Public Works Authority 'Ashghal' was established in 2004 to be responsible for the planning, design, procurement, construction, delivery, and asset management of all infrastructure projects and public buildings in Qatar. Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation Kahramaa
About KAHRAMAA
Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation “KAHRAMAA” was established on July 2000 under the Law No. 10 in order to achieve the highest performance rates in distributing and the supply of electricity and drinking water to customers across the State of Qatar and securing the country’s needs of them permanently.
Since its inception, KAHRAMAA has been operated as an independent corporation on a commercial basis. The corporation has been reorganized under the Emiri Decree No. 45 of the year 2009.
KAHRAMAA is obliged to provide its customers throughout the State of Qatar with high quality of electricity and water services.
In addition, Kahramaa is keen on building up the capacity and calibers of its staff through training and improving their skills in order to improve the services offered to customers.
BP Complex
The Building Permit Complex, with regards to Kahramaa, is responsible for the following:
- Study technical applications and engineering plans to provide for the adoption of the main and sub stations in the country.
- Study the planning and distribution of the main and sub network for electricity and water.
- Study the necessary technical specifications required for the stations and their locations.
- The technical study required for the safety of electrical and water connections.
- Develop action steps to improve the required approvals for the electricity and water needed for the issuance of building permits.
- Put in place performance indicators for the procedures followed for approving electricity and water applications needed for the issuance of building permits.
- Prepare periodic reports and follow-up procedures for the electricity and water services requested for the purpose of building permits.

Qatar Fuel Company - Woqod
Qatar Fuel (WOQOD) is a downstream oil storage, distribution and marketing company, formed in 2002 as a joint stock company listed in Qatar Exchange. The company was formed from the fuel storage and distribution assets owned at that time by Qatar Petroleum under the name of NODCO (National Oil Distribution Company). NODCO-owned Qatar's fuel distribution depot located in Abu Hamour supplies diesel, gasoline and aviation fuels to the entire State of Qatar.
Qatar Rail Company - Rail
The Qatar Rail will be the owner and manager of metro rail network and will be responsible for the design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the entire rail network and systems. This will include long distance ,freight, LRT, under different phase’s- in line with the 2030 vision.
